Malibu’s Burgers is a classic burger joint serving burgers, shakes, and fries. Originally founded as a 100% vegan concept, we have since expanded to reach a wider audience while maintaining our commitment to inclusive, delicious comfort food.
We take pride in creating menu items that appeal to a wide variety of customers—from dedicated vegans and vegetarians to those who are gluten-free, dairy-free, flexitarian, or simply love a great burger. Our focus is on nostalgic, flavorful comfort food that everyone can enjoy, regardless of dietary preferences.
Malibu’s Burgers began as a food truck in 2019 and continued to grow through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are deeply grateful to our loyal customers who have supported us throughout this journey.
Our ceo: Danny malibu
Danny Malibu was born and raised in New York City. In 2008, he moved to California to attend Menlo College, where he studied business. As an entrepreneur, his journey has taken many forms.
In 2012, Danny adopted a vegan lifestyle driven by his passion for animal rights. Years later, noticing a lack of plant-based comfort food options in the Bay Area, he founded Malibu’s Burgers in 2019 as a vegan food truck.
As the business has grown, Malibu’s Burgers has evolved to serve a wider community. While plant-based options remain an important part of the menu, the restaurant now offers a broader range of comfort food favorites so that people with different tastes and dietary preferences can enjoy the experience together.
Many items on the menu reflect nostalgic comfort food memories inspired by the cooking of his Foundational Black American and Puerto Rican grandmothers in New York City, as well as his own mother, known affectionately as Chef Lulu (founder of Casa Borinqueña).
